What am I playing?

You are playing an early alpha version of what is to become my first release on Steam; Pew Pew vs Monsters. This alpha version will be continuously updated with planned improvements on all fronts, so keep an eye out for the development logs at the bottom of this page. I read and listen to any and all feedback, so feel free to leave a comment!

..but why?

The goal for me personally is clear: to go through the entire process of releasing a game on Steam from scratch, with a timeline of a couple of months. Since I am doing everything myself while combining this with a part-time job and fathering 25 children, I am trying to keep the scope relatively small. I'm kidding about the children.

How to play

Goal

Make Pew Pew survive for as long as possible by shooting the monsters before they attack. If Pew Pew levels up, a random modifier is automatically (for now) improved.

Controls

  • aim | mouse
  • shoot | click
  • move | arrow keys / WASD
  • reload | r
  • dash | space (coming soon!)

What’s planned?

For this alpha version

  • 11 different player modifiers
  • The possibility of upgrading those modifiers yourself
  • Highscore keeping
  • A dash mechanic
  • Faster paced gameplay
  • Better overall game feel (yes I’m aiming for fun here, quite radical)

  • 5 difficulties
  • Unlockable enhancements for build customization
  • A glorious boss fight
  • A backstory if time allows (lol)
